AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Colt McCoy passed for a personal-best 470 yards Saturday, pacing the No. 2 Texas Longhorns to a 35-3 victory over Central Florida.

Two of McCoy's passes went for touchdowns and Cody Johnson scored on runs of 20 and 13 yards as Texas improved to 9-0 with non-conference victory.

Texas piled up 537 yards of offense, with McCoy accounting for most of that on 33-of-42 passing. His favorite target Saturday was Jordan Shipley, who caught 11 passes for a school record 273 yards with 88 yards coming on a scoring play.

James Kirkendoll caught a 14-yard touchdown pass for Texas

McCoy was 3 yards short of Major Applewhite's Texas record for passing yards in a game. Applewhite had 473 yards in the 2001 Holiday Bowl.

Central Florida, which entered the game having won its previous two games, fell to 5-4 after leading 3-0 early in the second quarter.
