NHL: New York Rangers 4, Edmonton 2

EDMONTON, Alberta, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Ales Kotalik had a goal and two assists for the New York Rangers Thursday in a 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

The Rangers started the scoring with a goal by Christopher Higgins late in the first period and led all the way after that.

Marian Gaborik and Ryan Callahan also scored for New York and Stephen Valiquette blocked 26 shots.

Lubomir Visnovsky and Mike Comrie tallied for the Oilers, who have lost three straight games.

Edmonton goalie Nikolai Khabibulin had 35 saves.
