NHL: Montreal 2, Boston 1 (SO)

BOSTON, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Montreal's Mike Cammalleri fired the only goal of the shootout goal Thursday, giving the Canadiens a 2-1 victory over the Boston Bruins.

Glen Metropolit took a pass and tapped in a goal for the Canadiens in the first period.

The Canadiens' Paul Bergeron knocked in a rebound shot with 52 seconds left in regulation, sending the game into overtime.

Carey Price stopped 42 shots for Montreal.

Tim Thomas had 25 saves for Boston.
