NHL: San Jose 3, Columbus 2 (SO)

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Dan Boyle's shootout goal Wednesday gave San Jose a 3-2 victory over Columbus that extended the Sharks' win streak to six games.

Boyle fired a wrist shot into the upper right corner of the net. Sharks goalie Evgeni Nabokov then blocked a Rick Nash shot to secure the win.

Dany Heatley and Joe Thornton posted the other San Jose goals and Nabokov ended up with 26 saves.

Nash and Jason Chimera scored for the Blue Jackets and Anton Stralman added two assists.

Columbus goalie Steve Mason was credited with 36 saves.
