PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Alex Rodriguez drove in the winning run in the ninth-inning of a 7-4 New York win over Philadelphia Sunday that gave the Yankees a 3-1 lead in the World Series.

The Yankees can wrap up their 27th title Monday with a win over the Phillies in Game 5 at Philadelphia.

New York led 4-3 after 7 1/2 innings but the Phillies' Pedro Feliz tied the score 4-4 with a solo home run. However, the Yankees scored three runs with two out in the top of the ninth to take a commanding lead over the NL Champion Phillies.

After stroking a two-out single in the ninth, Johnny Damon stole second and then took third on a heads-up running when he saw the bag was not covered. Phillies closer Brad Lidge then hit Mark Teixeira with a pitch and Rodriguez drove in Damon with a double.

Jorge Posada -- who had three RBI on the night -- drove in Teixeira and Rodriguez to put the Yankees ahead 7-4 and closer Marian Rivera retired the side in the bottom of the ninth to seal the victory.

Yankees starter CC Sabathia allowed three runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings with three walks and six strikeouts. Joba Chamberlain got the win in relief.

Phillies starter Joe Blanton went six innings, allowing four runs on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Chase Utley homered and drove in two runs and Feliz finished with two RBI for Philadelphia.
