TORONTO, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Anaheim Ducks defenseman James Wisniewski has been suspended for two games for delivering a forearm blow to the head of another player, the NHL said Monday.

Wisniewski hit Phoenix forward Shane Doan during a 3-2 Coyotes shootout win over the Ducks Oct. 31, league officials said.

No penalty was called on the play.

Wisniewski, who will forfeit $28,497.40 in pay because of the suspension, may return to the lineup for a Saturday game against Phoenix after missing games against Pittsburgh and Nashville.

The money will go to the Players Emergency Assistance Fund.
