CLEVELAND, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Cleveland Browns General Manager George Kokinis is no longer with the team, the Browns announced late Monday.

The team issued a statement that said Kokinis "is no longer actively involved with the organization."

The team denied reports that Kokinis was escorted from the Browns facility by security personnel.

"In the interest of protecting the parties involved we will withhold further comment," the statement said.

Kokinis was in his first year as GM.

The Cleveland team has lost seven of eight games this season under new Coach Eric Mangini.

The Browns were ripped 30-6 Sunday by the Chicago Bears.
