
CALGARY, Alberta, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Chris Osgood made 20 saves on 21 shots Saturday, leading the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-1 win at Calgary.
The only goal he gave up was scored by Daymond Langkow at 14:43 of the first period.
Tomas Holmstrom's team-leading seventh goal this season snapped a 1-1 tie at 16:17 of the second, and Kirk Maltby (empty net) (unassisted) scored the game's final goal at 19:16 of the third for the Red Wings, who finished a five-game road trip with a 2-1-2 record.
Goalie Miikka Kiprusoff yielded two goals on 29 shots for the Flames, who have lost seven of their last 11 meetings with Detroit.
"We got the lead, and the next two or three shifts we made mistakes," said Flames Coach Brent Sutter.
There were no power-play goals on six combined chances.
