PHOENIX, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Channing Frye's 25 points and five rebounds Sunday led the unbeaten Phoenix Suns to a 120-112 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Following a slim 35-34 first-period advantage, Phoenix built its lead to 96-85 lead heading into the fourth.
Minnesota used an 11-2 run to close to 110-105 with 3:13 left but Phoenix held on in the final minutes.
Grant Hill and Jason Richardson scored 23 points apiece amd Hill had 10 rebounds.
Amare Stoudemire scored 19 with eight rebounds, while Steve Nash added 14 points and 14 assists for the Suns, who have won their first three contests.
Ryan Gomes led Minnesota with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Al Jefferson had 21 points and eight rebounds, Corey Brewer scored 19 points with seven rebounds and Jonny Flynn added 11 with four assists for the Timberwolves, who have lost two of three.
