NHL: N.Y. Islanders, Buffalo 0

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Jeff Tambellini recorded his first career hat trick as the host New York Islanders downed the Buffalo Sabres 5-0 Saturday.

Martin Biron keyed the defense with 38 saves for his first shutout of the season.

Richard Park had a goal and an assist while Josh Bailey also scored for the Islanders, who have won three straight.

New York took command of the game in the second period with three goals. Tambellini scored twice in the second period and once in the third.
