NHL: Minnesota 2, Pittsburgh 1

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- The Minnesota Wild made two first-period goals stand up in notching a 2-1 NHL win over the host Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday.

Niklas Backstrom made 34 saves, and Kyle Brodziak and Eric Belanger scored for the Wild's second straight win.

Former Wild player Pascal Dupuis provided most of the offense for the Penguins, who had won two in a row coming in. Marc-Andre Fleury took the loss, allowing both goals on only 15 shots.
