DALLAS, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Rostislav Olesz scored the only shootout goal Friday after Florida had let a three-score lead slip away, giving the Panthers a 6-5 win over Dallas.
The Stars staged a big rally to give themselves a chance, but wound up losing in a shootout for the fifth time this season. Dallas has played 13 games and has picked up at least a point in 11 of them.
Florida halted a four-game losing streak and won for just the third time this year.
Steve Reinprecht scored the game's first three goals in a span of just over 5 minutes in the opening period. He has eight for the season.
Dallas faced a 4-2 deficit early in the second period when Mike Ribeiro and James Neal tallied to tie it.
Olesz put Florida back in front 1:42 into the third period only to have Fabian Bruunstrom tie it again 71 seconds later.
Florida's Scott Clemmensen and Alex Auld of the Stars combined to allow 10 goals in 66 shots.
