RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- David Perron had two goals and one assist Wednesday, leading the St. Louis Blues to a 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Perron's first goal at 7:32 of the first period started the scoring. His second, coming at 19:08 of the third into an empty net, was the game's last goal.

Yan Stastny (unassisted), Jay McClement and Andy McDonald also scored for the Blues, who have won three of five.

Joe Corvo (power play) and Scott Walker (power play, unassisted) scored one goal each, while goalie Cam Ward was beaten four times on 17 shots for the punchless Hurricanes, who have lost their first seven games this season.

The longest losing streak in franchise history is nine, coming in the 1982-83 season when they were based in Hartford.

On the power play, St. Louis was 0-for-1 and Carolina went 2-for-6.
