MIAMI, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Dwyane Wade scored 26 points Wednesday and the Miami Heat produced a 34-point third quarter to blast the New York Knicks 115-93.

Wade opened the season by going 10-of-22 from the field. Jermaine O'Neal added 22 points and 12 rebounds for Miami, which is hoping to rebound from a first-round playoff exit last season, having lost in seven games to Atlanta.

The Knicks were led by David Lee and Danilo Gallinari with 22 each. Wilson Chandler added 21.

Miami closed the second quarter on a 13-3 run to take a 56-47 advantage at the break. The Heat then outscored the Knicks in the third quarter 34-15 to turn the game into a rout.

Prior to the game, the Heat retired the jersey No. 10 in honor of Tim Hardaway. He joined Alonzo Mourning as the only Miami players to have their numbers retired.
