BOSTON, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Ray Allen led the way with 18 points Wednesday and Boston put on a defensive show in crushing Charlotte 92-59.
The Celtics began the season 2-0 after winning in Cleveland on Tuesday.
The 59 points were the fewest in the history of the Charlotte franchise. The Bobcats shot just 31.1 percent from the field and missed all 10 of their 3-point attempts.
Paul Pierce added 15 points and Rajon Rondo had 10 points and 11 assists for the Celtics, who made 11-of-29 from 3-point range.
Gerald Wallace was the only member of the Bobcats in double figures with 10 points to go with 12 rebounds.
Boston owned a 42-31 halftime lead and then scored the first 15 points of the third period while the Bobcats were missing eight shots in a row.
Charlotte had only two points in the third period and 33 for the game until Gerald Henderson hit two free throws with 3:17 to go in the stanza.
