Almagro among early Vienna winners

VIENNA, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Spain's Nicolas Almagro, the No. 5 seed, was among first-round winners Monday in the Bank of Austria Tennis Trophy in Vienna.

Almagro rallied to defeat Australian Peter Luczak 5-7, 7-6 (7-3), 6-1.

Frederico Gil of Portugal eliminated Austrian Stefan Koubek 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Other opening-round winners included German Daniel Brands, American Wayne Odesnik and Romania's Victor Crivoi.
