MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Cal Clutterbuck came off the injured reserve list Saturday and scored the game-winning goal in Minnesota's 3-2 overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Clutterbuck, who had missed the last five games with a sprained ankle, backhanded the winning goal at 1:55 past Cam Ward, who was sprawled on the ice after making the save on Greg Zanon's shot.

Andrew Brunette and Kyle Brodziak scored the other two Minnesota goals. Niklas Backstrom had 21 saves on 23 shots.

Ward faced 29 shots for the Hurricanes, who have lost all six of their road games thus far.

Carolina took a 1-0 lead at 10:32 of the first period on a power-play goal by Sergei Samsonov, but the Wild tied it on Brunette's power-play goal with 7:08 to play in the period.

After Brodziak's goal at 1:51 of the second period put Minnesota ahead 2-1, Joni Pitkanen came back at the 7:35 mark to make it 2-2 and set the stage for the overtime period.
