LONDON, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- A 39-yard interception return for a touchdown and three scoring passes by Tom Brady Sunday sent New England rolling to a 35-7 victory over Tampa Bay.
The game, played in London's Wembley Stadium, was the only NFL contest this season scheduled to be held outside the United States.
Meriweather picked off a pass by Josh Johnson on Tampa Bay's first possession and returned it 39 yards for a score that set the tone of the day.
Brady then delivered a touchdown pass in each of the first three quarters -- 14 yards to Wes Welker, 14 yards to Sam Aiken and 35 yards to Benjamin Watson.
The Patriots remained atop the AFC East with a 5-2 mark, winning their second straight game. Tampa Bay is winless in its six games, leaving the Buccaneers as one of three teams in the league without a victory this year. St. Louis (0-7) also lost Sunday and Tennessee (0-6) had the week off.
Brady completed 23-of-32 passes for 308 yards and the Patriots had 414 total yards to 240 for the Buccaneers.
Johnson could manage only 9-of-26 for 156 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions. He was sacked three times.
Josh Freeman, chosen this year with the 17th pick in the draft out of Kansas State, made his NFL debut late in the game as Johnson's replacement. Freeman completed 2-of-4 passes for 14 yards.
