New York Jets shut out the Raiders in Oakland, California

OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Shonn Greene gained 144 yards and scored two touchdowns Sunday, leading the New York Jets in a 38-0 rout of the Oakland Raiders.

Greene needed just 19 carries to reach his total. His touchdowns -- an 8-yard burst in the second quarter and a 33-yard run in the fourth quarter -- were the first of his NFL career.

Fellow running back Thomas Jones gained 121 yards on 26 carries with one touchdown.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez completed 9-of-15 passes for 143 yards with one touchdown. David Clowney caught four passes for 79 yards with one touchdown for the Jets (4-3), who rebounded from a 16-13 loss to AFC East Division rival Buffalo at home last Sunday when Sanchez threw five interceptions.

Oakland quarterbacks Bruce Gradkowski and JaMarcus Russell combined for just 158 passing yards.

Running back Justin Fargas gained 67 yards on eight carries, and Louis Murphy caught four passes for 58 yards for the Raiders (2-5), who surprised Philadelphia 13-9 last Sunday.
