MLS: D.C United 2, Kansas City 2

WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Claudio Lopez's late goal on a penalty kick earned the Kansas City Wizards a 2-2 draw with D.C. United Saturday.

The tie knocked United's playoff hopes back in their final regular-season match, leaving them tied with Colorado and Salt Lake City.

Lopez scored his seventh goal of the season in the 92nd minute, 10 minutes after Julius James had put D.C. ahead 2-1 with an unassisted goal, his first of the season.

Kei Kamara scored the other Kansas City goal in the 30th minute.

The Wizards held the lead for more than 20 minutes into the second half when Jamie Moreno converted on a penalty kick to tie the score 1-1.
