
COLUMBIA, S.C., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Colt McCoy threw three touchdown passes, two in the first quarter, as third-ranked Texas thrashed Missouri 41-7 in a Big 12 Conference match-up Saturday.
Texas built a 21-0 first-quarter lead and coasted home.
McCoy showed no effects from the right thumb injury he suffered against Oklahoma a week before. He completed his first 11 passes and connected on 26-of-31 overall for 269 yards with one interception.
Jordan Shipley scored twice on seven receptions for 108 yards, while Malcolm Williams recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for the Longhorns (7-0, 4-0), who have won 15 of their last 16 games against the Tigers.
Mizzou quarterback Blaine Gabbert completed 8-of-16 passes for 84 yards with one touchdown.
Danario Alexander made six catches for 74 yards, while Jared Perry caught a second-quarter touchdown pass for the Tigers (4-3, 0-3), who were out-gained 400-173 in total yardage in their third straight loss.
