
BATON ROUGE, La., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Jordan Jefferson passed for 242 yards with two touchdowns Saturday, leading 10th-ranked LSU to a 31-10 SEC rout of Auburn in a battle between Tigers.
The touchdowns, both in the first quarter, one on a pass, the other on a run, helped LSU build a 17-0 halftime lead.
In all, Jefferson completed 21-of-31 passes for 242 yards and added 26 yards rushing.
Russell Shepard scored on a 69-yard third-quarter run and gained 71 yards on six carries for 71 yards, while receivers Terrance Toliver and Brandon LaFell combined for 15 receptions for 153 yards with one touchdown apiece for the Tigers (6-1, 4-1), who have a 24-19-1 lead in the series.
Auburn's Chris Todd was 8-of-14 for just 47 yards with one interception.
Back-up Neil Caudle passed for 34 yards with a touchdown toss to Philip Lutzenkirchen with three seconds left for the Tigers (5-3, 2-3), who have lost three in a row.
