STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Marcos Baghdatis beat Olivier Rochus in a straight sets final Sunday at the Stockholm Open, his first tournament win since February 2007 at the Croatia Open.

The scores were 6-1, 7-5, making him the 10th unseeded tournament winner this season. He won 62 percent of his serves, hit 15 aces and saved four of six break points.

Sunday's victory came after an eight-month absence due to injury and was his third career title.

"I wanted to win this so badly," Baghdatis said. "I played really well in the first set. It was important to get a good start, but then in the second set Olivier stepped it up. I was a bit lucky to win in two sets in the end."

For his victory, the Cypriot earned a $140,000 champion's check.

Rochus, from Belgium, fell to 3-5 in title matches.
