TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Terrence Cody blocked a field goal on the last play Saturday to preserve Alabama's 12-10 SEC win over Tennessee.

With time expiring, Cody knocked down Daniel Lincoln's potential game-winning boot for his second block of the fourth quarter.

Cody's game-ending heroics followed a false-start penalty, an incomplete pass and Luke Stocker's 23-yard pass reception at the Alabama 27 yard line.

Leigh Tiffin kicked four field goals, quarterback Greg McElroy completed 18-of-29 for 120 yards and Mark Ingram gained 99 yards on 18 carries for the Crimson Tide (8-0, 5-0), who have a week off before LSU visits Tuscaloosa on Nov. 7.

Jonathan Crompton led UT with 21 completions on 36 passes for 265 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Gerald Jones caught a scoring pass on seven receptions for 72 yards for the Volunteers (3-4, 1-3), who have lost two of three.
