LUXEMBOURG, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Fifth-seeded Yanina Wickmayer led Friday's quarterfinal winners at the Luxembourg Open tennis tournament, beating fellow Belgian Kirsten Flipkens in three sets.

The scores, 7-6 (7-1), 4-6, 6-1, kept Wickmayer in position to record her second women's singles title this week following a 6-3, 6-4 win over Petra Kvitova in Sunday's final at the Generali Ladies tennis tournament at Linz, Austria.

Also, Israel's Shahar Peer topped fourth-seeded Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia 6-2, 7-6 (7-4); No. 6 seed Sabine Lisicki of Germany downed Switzerland's Patty Schnyder 6-4, 6-2; and Switzerland's Timea Bacsinszky beat Slovenian Katarina Srebotnik 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 6-4.

Schnyder had beaten former U.S. Open winner and five-time Luxembourg titlist Kim Clijsters in Thursday's second- round.

Saturday's semifinals are Wickmayer-Bacsinszky and Lisicki-Peer. The winner on Sunday collects a $37,000 champion's check.
