
EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Dustin Penner started a stretch of five unanswered goals Thursday that rallied the Edmonton Oilers to a 6-4 victory over Columbus.
Kristian Huselius had scored twice to help give Columbus a 4-1 lead before the Oilers staged a huge comeback to win their third in a row.
Penner started the rally with 7:51 left in the second period and also scored the tying goal on the power play 6:04 into the third. Lubomir Visnovsky put Edmonton in front with 9:17 to go and Robert Nilsson scored into an empty net with 16 seconds remaining.
Penner has scored seven goals this season.
Mathieu Garon, who won his only other start this season, remained in goal throughout the Edmonton surge and wound up surrendering five goals on 27 shots.
Nikolai Khabibulin survived the early Columbus offense to make 28 saves.
