NEW YORK, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Dainius Zubrus and Zach Parise scored third-period goals Thursday to help lift the New Jersey Devils to a 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers.
After winning seven of their first eight games, the Rangers have dropped two in a row.
Parise had two goals and an assist in helping the Devils win for the fifth time in six outings. He scored the game's first goal 6:11 into the first period, assisted on the goal by Zubrus that put the Devils in front and then added an empty-netter with 41 seconds to play.
Coming off his first shutout of the season and the 102nd of his career, Martin Brodeur made 29 saves to get the win. He gave up second-period goals to Marian Gaborik and Ales Kotalik, allowing the Rangers to rally from a 2-0 deficit.
Henrik Lundqvist stopped 21-of-24 shots for New York.
