Report: Jilted lover dogs ESPN's Phillips

WILTON, Conn., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- A jilted co-worker allegedly harassed the family of ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips after he dumped her, police reports reveal.

Phillips declined to press charges against the 22-year-old woman despite her alleged repeated and ominous contacts with his wife and teenage son.

"I have extreme concerns about the health and safety of my kids and

myself," Phillips said in a statement given to police in Wilton, Conn.

Phillips and ESPN declined immediate comment on the scandal that broke in the New York Post Wednesday. A source told the newspaper Phillips had been suspended for a week.

The Post said Phillips, 46, admitted to a summer fling with ESPN production assistant Brooke Hundley. He told police the harassment began soon after he broke it off.

Hundley allegedly contacted Phillips' son by e-mail and at one of his football practices. She also allegedly badgered Marni Phillips with phone calls and text messages, and confronted her in the driveway of the Phillips home.
