WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Former Washington Redskins running back John Riggins says the team's fans should expect more "chaos" and owner Daniel Snyder is part of the problem.
The 2-4 Redskins suffered a 14-6 home field loss to Kansas City last Sunday, their third loss to a winless team in the last four games, leaving their fans voicing highly critical comments about Snyder, Coach Jim Zorn and Vinny Cerrato, the team's head of football operations.
"The decay started 10 years ago (and) it's not going to change anytime soon until there is some kind of a commitment from this ownership to step away from the operation and hire the right guy," Riggins said Tuesday on his "Ask Riggo" program on Washington radio station WTOP-FM.
Riggins, a 60-year-old former Super Bowl MVP and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame who played for the Redskins and New York Jets, added that handing play-calling decisions away from Zorn to recently hired consultant Sherm Lewis, 67, is not the answer.
Washington's next contest is Monday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
