Clement surprises Beck in Stockholm

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Qualifier Arnaud Clement, who once reached the Top 10 in the world rankings, surprised fifth-seeded Andreas Beck Tuesday at the Stockholm Open.

Clement won his first match on the ATP circuit since May, downing Beck 6-4, 6-2.

Olivier Rochus won his first-round match over Andreas Vinciguerra 6-3, 6-2 and Jarkko Nieminen blasted Grigor Dimitrov 6-0, 6-2.

Thomaz Bellucci, Andreas Seppi and Michael Berrer also advanced to the second round. Top seed Robin Soderling will play his opening-round match Wednesday.
