TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 18 (UPI) -- DeAngelo Williams scored in the waning seconds Sunday, boosting the Carolina Panthers to a 28-21 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Williams capped a 30-carry, 152-yard, two-touchdown effort by breaking a 21-21 tie with 29 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
Fellow running back Jonathan Stewart scored once on 17 carries for 110 yards for the Panthers (2-3), who got only 65 passing yards from quarterback Jake Delhomme, but had a 267-124 advantage in yards rushing.
They have won six of their last seven games against the Buccaneers.
Tampa Bay's Josh Johnson completed 11-of-17 pass for 147 yards and one interception.
Sammie Stroughter scored on a third-quarter, 97-yard kickoff return and added three receptions for 65 yards for the Buccaneers (0-6), who last lost their first six games in 1985, when they had started 0-9.
