COL FB: Alabama 20, South Carolina 6

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Mark Ingram racked up 246 yards on 24 carries and ran for a late touchdown Saturday, leading third-ranked Alabama to a 20-6 SEC win over No. 22 South Carolina.

His 4-yard touchdown run secured Alabama's victory with 4:54 left in the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Greg McElroy completed 10-of-20 passes for just 92 yards with two interceptions, while Leigh Tiffin kicked two first-half field goals for the Crimson Tide (7-0, 4-0 SEC), who have seven double-digit victories this season.

Quarterback Stephen Garcia led South Carolina with 20-of-46 passing for 214 yards, but one interception.

Spencer Lanning kicked two second-quarter field goals.

Alshon Jeffrey had four catches for 83 yards, and Jason Barnes added six receptions for 46 yards for the Gamecocks (5-2, 2-2), who had won their last four games, all at home in Columbia.
