GAINESVILLE, Fla., Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Top-ranked Florida got a late field goal from Caleb Sturgis to turn back stubborn SEC foe Arkansas 23-20 for its 16th straight victory.
Sturgis booted a 27-yarder with nine seconds remaining.
Quarterback Tim Tebow completed 17-of-26 pass attempts for 255 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.
Aaron Hernandez and Riley Cooper combined for 150 receiving yards.
Jeffery Demps' 10-yard touchdown run created a 20-20 tie with 7:27 left in the fourth.
He finished with 54 yards on nine carries for the unbeaten Gators (6-0, 4-0 SEC), who overcame four fumbles, three in the first half.
Quarterback Ryan Mallett led Arkansas with 12-of-27 passing for 224 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.
Dennis Johnson rushed for 107 yards on 14 carries, while Greg Childs scored once after four receptions for 135 yards for the Razorbacks (3-3, 1-3), who had won two in a row.
