CLEVELAND, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- The flu bug that hit several Cleveland Cavaliers players this week appears to have run its course, the Akron Beacon Journal reported Friday.

Superstar forward LeBron James missed a pre-season contest against Washington on Wednesday after he was stricken with flu-like symptoms, and teammates Colby Karl and Darnell Jackson tested positive for the Influenza A.

"I don't want anyone to get sick," James told the newspaper late Thursday in a raspy-voice at Cleveland Clinic Courts. "'If this is the time when the flu bug or whatever you want to call it is going to hit our team, I'm glad that it's happening now, especially for myself."

Coach Mike Brown said James likely will play in exhibition games at San Antonio and Dallas this weekend.

"It's pre-season, so you don't worry about it too much," Brown told the newspaper.
