THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Dan Forsman shot 8-under-par 64 Friday and leads the Champions Administaff Small Business Classic at The Woodlands, Texas, by one-shot after the first round.

Forsman's opening round, which began on the back nine, included nine birdies and only one bogey after he three-putted the par-4 12th hole.

"I felt confident, even after my three-putt," Forsman said. "I relaxed and enjoyed myself."

Forsman's lone Champions Tour win was at the AT&T Champions Classic in March.

John Cook, an 11-time winner on the PGA Tour, shot 7-under 65 and is alone in second place. At 4-under 67 are three-time major tournament champion Nick Price, Bob Tway, Mark Wiebe and Jay Don Blake.

Two-time defending champion Bernhard Langer shot 4-under 68 and sits in a five-way tie for seventh place.
