DALLAS, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Brenden Morrow scored two of the four goals Dallas produced in a span of 5:31 of the first period Wednesday and the Stars coasted past Nashville 6-0.
Marty Turco made 29 saves to collect his first shutout this season and the 37th of his nine-year career.
The Stars scored on each of their first three shots, quickly driving goalie Dan Ellis from the game. Pekka Rinne came on to stop 20 of 23 shots the rest of the way.
Morrow scored on a slapshot 3:17 into the game and Brad Richards beat Ellis with a wrister 40 seconds later.
A goal by Loui Eriksson at 6:31 of the first sent Ellis to the bench. Morrow finished off the big opening period with a power-play goal and Eriksson had his second of the night in the second period.
Dallas is one of only two teams in the NHL (Buffalo is the other) not to have lost a game in regulation this season. All three of the Dallas setbacks have come in shootouts.
