The five-year veteran from Purdue helped the Broncos rise to 5-0 the first time since 1998 with a 20-17 overtime win over the New England Patriots, completing 35-of-48 passes for 330 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Orton went 4-of-6 for 31 yards during an 11-play, 58-yard drive to set up a game-winning field goal by place-kicker Matt Prater.

Other AFC honorees were Pittsburgh linebacker James Harrison (defense) and Cleveland punter Dave Zastudil (special teams).

Harrison, the reigning AFC Defensive Player of the Year, compiled eight tackles -- two for losses -- and three sacks in the Steelers' 28-20 win at Detroit.

Zastudil placed seven punts inside the 20-yard line in the Browns' 6-3 win at Buffalo.
