VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Kyle Wellwood had the decisive goal in a shootout Sunday when the Vancouver Canucks beat Dallas 4-3.
Ryan Kesler, Alex Burrows and Willie Mitchell scored in regulation and Robert Luongo stopped 32 shots in regulation and overtime for Vancouver, which has won two straight after losing three straight to start the season.
Luongo came up with two saves in the shootout, and Mikael Samuelsson and Henrik Sedin had two assists apiece for the Canucks.
Marty Turco was 22-of-25 in goal for the Stars, who were coming off a victory over Calgary Friday after losing in two straight shootouts. Mike Ribeiro, Brad Richards and Jamie Benn scored for Dallas Sunday.
Wellwood, up first for the Canucks in the shootout, beat Turco with a forehand. Richards failed to score on his turn and Kesler beat Turco to put the Canucks ahead before Luongo denied Ribeiro's attempt to give Vancouver the victory.
