NHL: Tampa Bay 3, Florida 2

TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Ryan Malone's goal with 6:31 left in the third period turned out to be the game-winner Monday in the Tampa Bay Lightning's 3-2 win over Florida.

Martin St. Louis and Steven Stamkos each had a goal and an assist, Vincent Lecavalier had two assists, and Antero Niittymaki blocked 31-of-33 shots for Tampa Bay, which has won two straight after opening the season with three straight losses.

Radek Dvorak and Nathan Horton each had a goal for Florida, which lost its fourth straight after opening the season with a win. Panthers' goalie Tomas Vokoun blocked 28-of-31 shots.
