DENVER, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Brad Lidge pitched out of a ninth-inning jam, helping Philadelphia take a 6-5 win Sunday over Colorado in Game 3 of the National League Division Series.

Lidge, who blew a league-high 11 saves during the regular season, allowed the Rockies to get two men on base in the ninth before Troy Tulowitzki hit a fly to left for the final out, giving the Phillies a 2-1 edge in the best-of-five divisional series.

In the top of the ninth, Ryan Howard drove in Jimmy Rollins with a sacrifice fly that made the score 6-5. Carlos Ruiz knocked in two runs, while Chase Utley homered and scored twice for the defending World Series champions.

Carlos Gonzalez collected three hits, including a home run, and scored three times for the Rockies. Garrett Atkins added two RBI.

Both starters were chased in early innings. Phillies starter J.A. Happ left after allowing five hits and three runs over three innings. Colorado starter Jason Hammel was gone after 3 2/3 innings as he allowed four hits and four runs.

The game lasted 4 hours, 6 minutes, allowing for a short rest before Monday afternoon's Game 4. The 35-degree game-time temperature tied the lowest for a postseason contest and it came after Game 3 was postponed Saturday because of snow. Monday's forecast high is 38 degrees.
