Wings' Franzen out four months

DETROIT, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Detroit forward Johan Franzen is expected to miss at least four months because of a torn ligament in his left knee, the Red Wings announced Friday.

The 29-year-old Franzen was hurt in Thursday's 3-2 Wings win over Chicago.

Franzen, who joined the Detroit organization in 2004, has 84 goals and 61 assists in 295 NHL games.
