CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Eric Nystrom scored two goals and Staffan Kronwall had the game-winner Tuesday in the Calgary Flames' 4-3 win over Montreal.
Kronwall grabbed a carom off the boards just above the left circle and fired a one-timer past Montreal goalie Jaroslav Halak at 2:16 of the third period to break a 3-3 tie.
Nystrom scored on a wrist shot to open the scoring at 8:17 of the first period and then on a redirect at 13:03 of the second period to tie the score 2-2.
Jarome Iginla also scored for the Flames while Miikka Kiprusoff allowed three goals on 30 shots.
Halak recorded 24 saves for the Canadiens.
Montreal tallied a pair of quick goals by Chris Gomez and Guillaume Latendresse late in the first period to take a 2-1 lead. Tomas Plekanec scored Montreal's third goal with 11 seconds to play in the second period to make it 3-3.
