ST. ANDREWS, Scotland, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Simon Dyson shot a 6-under-par 66 Monday and finished off a 3-stroke victory at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championships in Scotland.

The final round was played Monday because windy conditions forced a cancellation of play Saturday, pushing the third round to Sunday the final round to Monday.

Dyson's 72-hole-total of 20-under 268 was three shots better than Rory McIlroy and Oliver Wilson, who tied for second. McIlroy's finish pushed him to the top of the Race to Dubai competition.

Dyson opened the fourth round a stroke behind Luke Donald but surged to a 4-stroke lead with six birdies in his first seven holes Monday. He had another birdie at No. 12. A bogey at the par-4 17th was the only blemish on his scorecard for the round.

The Dunhill win was the fourth European Tour title for Dyson, who won August's KLM Open to end a three-year victory drought.

Donald, the third-round lead, fought through a 1-over 73 Monday and wound up tied for ninth at 13-under.
