NEWARK, N.J., Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Ray Emery had 24 saves Saturday to help the Philadelphia Flyers post a 5-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils.

Jeff Carter, Mike Richards, Ian Laperriere and Darroll Powe all scored for Philadelphia, which posted just its second road victory over New Jersey in more than five years.

Matt Carle had a goal and an assist and James van Riemsdyk added two assists for the Flyers, who have won the season's first two games for the first time since beginning the 1998-99 season.

Brian Rolston and Jamie Langenbrunner scored for the Devils. New Jersey goalie Martin Brodeur's 1,000th career game was a loss as he gave up all five goals on 27 shots.
