NFL: Chicago 48, Detroit 24.

CHICAGO, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Jay Cutler passed for two scores and ran for one Sunday in a 48-24 Chicago Bears rout of the Detroit Lions.

The Bears (3-1) trailed 14-7 after one quarter but scored 27 points in the second and third en route to the runaway win.

Cutler, 18-of-28 for 141 yards, tossed scoring passes of 2 yards to Kellen Davis and 1 yard to Greg Olsen and ran 5 yards for a score.

The Bears' other touchdowns included a 102-yard kickoff return by Johnny Knox.

Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford was 24-of-36 for 296 yards, including a 14-yard TD pass to Will Heller, before leaving the game in the fourth quarter with an injury to his right knee.

Kevin Smith scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards for the Lions (1-3).
