Tommie Harris' wife dies

SEATTLE, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Jose Lopez hit a key two-run double Sunday, leading the Seattle Mariners to a season-ending 4-3 win over the Texas Rangers.
The hit gave the Mariners a 4-1 lead with two outs in the bottom of the fifth.
Franklin Gutierrez had two hits and two RBI, and Josh Wilson had three hits for the Mariners, who won five of their final six games to finish with an 85-77 record.
The winner was starter Felix Hernandez (19-5).
Closer David Aardsma earned his 38th save with a 1-2-3 ninth.
Chris Davis, Taylor Teagarden and Craig Gentry each drove in a run for the Rangers, who had only four hits in their 15th loss in their final 23 games.
The losing pitcher was starter Scott Feldman (17-8).
