MLB: San Diego 2, San Francisco 0

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Wade LeBlanc held San Francisco to two hits in seven scoreless innings Saturday, pacing San Diego's 2-0 win over the Giants.

LeBlanc (3-1) walked one batter and struck out eight before Mike Adams pitched a hitless and scoreless eighth, and closer Heath Bell did likewise, earning his 42nd save after walking a batter in the top of the ninth.

Adrian Gonzalez led San Diego with three hits and one RBI.

Chase Headley added first-inning RBI single for the Padres, who have won seven of eight.

Pablo Sandoval and Jesus Guzman got the hits for the Giants, who had won four in a row.

Losing pitcher Matt Cain (14-8) surrendered two runs and six hits in five innings with a walk and five strikeouts.
