
CINCINNATI, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Joey Votto's two hits and three RBI Saturday led Cincinnati to an 8-4 victory over Pittsburgh.
His two-run double upped Cincinnati's lead to 5-1 with two outs in the bottom of the fourth and later his solo eighth-inning homer capped the scoring.
Darnell McDonald had two hits and one RBI.
Scott Rolen hit a solo homer and scored twice.
A run scored on Jason Jaramillo's fourth-inning passed ball, while Ramon Hernandez added two hits for the Reds, who had lost two in a row.
The winner was starter Johnny Cueto (11-11).
Pittsburgh's Delwyn Young had three hits -- one a three-run sixth-inning homer.
Andy LaRoche hit an RBI double for the Pirates, who had only six hits and had their three-game winning streak stopped.
The losing pitcher was starter Zach Duke (11-16).
