CINCINNATI, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Brandon Phillips had two hits and three RBI Sunday, leading the Cincinnati Reds to a season-ending 6-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Phillips drove in runs in each of his first three at-bats, with two doubles and a ground out.
Scott Rolen hit a fifth-inning two-run triple, while Joey Votto had three of the 11 hits for the Reds, who won twice in the three-game series.
Winner Homer Bailey (8-5) gave up seven hits in seven innings with three walks and seven strikeouts before relievers Jared Burton, Ramon Ramirez and Carlos Fisher finished the 10-hit shutout.
Andrew McCutchen and Robinzon Diaz had two hits apiece for the Pirates, who ended the season with a 62-99 record.
The losing pitcher was starter Jeff Karstens (4-6).
