Tommie Harris' wife dies

DENVER, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Craig Anderson stopped 35 shots for his eighth career shutout Saturday when the Colorado Avalanche beat Vancouver 3-0.
Wojtek Wolski and Paul Stastny each had a goal and an assist and Darcy Tucker scored the other goal for the Avalanche, who opened the season with two straight wins for the first time since the 2001-02 season. Milan Hejduk had two assists in the win.
Roberto Luongo allowed three goals on 27 shots for the Canucks, who have lost their first two games this season.
